Hello everybody! If you've stumbled upon this blog, I hope you stick around! I plan to share my highs and lows, recipes, antique finds, and pretty much anything else I find to be noteworthy. So to start, I'll tell you a little bit about myself.
My name is Sara Hartman. Family calls me Sara Catherine, and the rest of the world calls me Sara or whatever they feel like at the time. I'm just about to turn 21 at the end of May. I'm currently a student at Auburn University studying to (eventually) get a degree in Occupational Therapy. I am an old woman in a young woman's body. I am absolutely obsessed with the Golden Girls and will more than likely use some of their wit to help me out more than a few times. Plants, animals, antiques, books. . . you name it, I probably want a thousand of them. I have a boyfriend, Cameron, who I will ultimately marry (if I can ever get out of college!). Right now we're on our third year together and enjoying finally being in the same house! My absolute best friend in the world is my mother, Ellen. She truly is a treasure to this earth and all who meet her! (And she probably won't be too happy that I'm putting her photo out to the internet. . . whoops!) My family is hugely important to me and the root of all my happiness. I'm a very compassionate person and I absolutely adore getting to know people. Everybody's got a backstory and I'm the girl to listen.

My thoughts on starting this blog at first were pretty simple: find new recipes to try and put the ones that work out into the world, learn a little more about myself, and track my new journey. Now, the journey bit is the real kicker here. I've recently been diagnosed with pretty severe anxiety and depression. I've known for a long time that I was afflicted by these two things, but I always thought I could handle it on my own. That actually turned out not to be so true for the time being, and now I'm on my journey of finding out how to heal and deal. I'll discuss this more in depth in other posts. I hope that I can somehow help at least one other person dealing with the things I've gone -- and continue to go -- through. There are many changes coming my way in the next few years, and I am thrilled to share with anyone (or no one) who reads this blog.
